Vegapp Species List Builder

This tool converts simple 1-3 column species lists into a format readable by Vegapp.

Note: Taxonomic names are processed as provided. Please ensure your data is clean and authorities are removed.

Name of your list (max 20 chars):

Upload a file of type .txt or .csv. It should contain 1, 2 or 3 columns without header line.

1 Column: The app creates a table without synonyms. Example for the input format (two accepted taxa):

Carex viridula
Carex lepidocarpa

2 Columns: The app assumes that the first column contains synonyms and the second contains valid names. A row with two identical names represents an accepted taxon; rows with different names represent synonyms. Each synonym must point to an accepted taxon. Example for the input format (one accepted taxon and one corresponding synonym):

Carex viridula,Carex viridula
Carex pulchella,Carex viridula

3 Columns: The app assumes that the third column contains optional higher-order 'parent' taxa for accepted taxa only (parents for synonyms are ignored). Each parent needs to correspond to an accepted taxon itself. Example for the input format (one accepted taxon with parent, one synonym without parent assignment, and the parent itself):
